Level 1 begins 18s into a run. The world moves at 428 units a second, and obstacles arrive between 1.46 and 2.88 seconds apart — which at this speed means 628 units of clear ground at the tightest.
The numbers
| Starts at | 18s |
|---|---|
| Speed | 428 units/s |
| Gap between obstacles | 1.46–2.88 s |
| Tightest gap, in units | 628 |
| Time an obstacle is on screen | 1,984 ms |
How long you actually have
An obstacle appears at the right edge and reaches you 1,984 ms later. That is the entire window to notice it, decide, and press. Of that, about 260 ms goes on reaction alone, leaving 585 ms of genuine slack at the tightest spacing this level allows. That slack is what shrinks as the levels climb — the reaction allowance itself never does, which is why the game stays fair however fast it gets.
What you will face
2 obstacle types are in rotation at this level. New here: nothing new — this level is about the pace.
| Obstacle | Width | Height | Since |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small cactus | 26 | 46 | Level 0 |
| Wide cactus | 44 | 44 | Level 0 |
Questions
How long does it take to reach level 1?
18s of survival. The level changes on a timer, not on your score, so it arrives at the same moment in every run.
How fast is level 1?
428 units a second. The speed climbs continuously rather than stepping at each level, so this is the speed at the moment the level begins and it keeps rising throughout.
Is level 1 harder than the one before?
Slightly, in two ways: the world is moving faster, and the gap between obstacles may be a little tighter. The reaction allowance built into that gap is identical at every level, so what changes is the slack, not the fairness.
Every figure on this page is read from the game's own tuning and recomputed on each build, so it describes the game you are actually playing rather than a version of it that once existed.
