What to know

In more detail

This is why the whole game is drawn procedurally rather than from a sprite sheet. A sprite sheet has to be downloaded before the first frame, is authored at one fixed resolution, and goes soft on a high-density phone screen. Shapes drawn in code are crisp at any pixel density, cost nothing to fetch, and mean the entire game is smaller than a single photograph. The trade is that it looks like what it is — simple — which for a game of this kind is not much of a trade.

Questions

Does it install like an app?

It ships a web manifest, so most browsers will offer to add it to your home screen. It then opens full-screen and behaves like an app, though it is still just the page.

Will my scores survive?

They are kept in this browser's local storage, so they survive closing the tab and restarting the device. Clearing your browsing data removes them, as does the "clear scores" button.

Does it use any data while playing?

None. After the initial page load there are no requests at all — you can watch the network panel while you play and it stays empty.

Every figure on this page is read from the game's own tuning and recomputed on each build, so it describes the game you are actually playing rather than a version of it that once existed.
